Ski Van (56-2-2192672), www.skivan.cl, $15 per person. These services run daily, and private pick up from hotels can be arranged. If in a hurry, Valle Nevado can arrange helicopter pick ups at the Santiago Airport for $1,780. Note: If you decide to drive and rent a car, be aware that the road to the resort is narrow and extremely winding (there are literally 60 switchbacks within the final 10 kilometers), which is spectacular visually but not driving for the faint-of-heart. On weekends and holidays traffic is limited to uphill from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and to downhill traffic from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. |
