Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Sun Peaks has 40 km. of cross-country trails, half wilderness trails and half track-set trails and skating lanes. Rentals and lessons are available. Snowshoeing trails—go alone or with a guide—follow dedicated routes with bird feeding stations, wildlife viewing and a snow cave. Rentals and tours include snowshoes, gaiters, an interpretive map and headlamps for evening outings.

Stake Lake Trails (fax, 250-579-5653; snow phone, 372-5514) is just 25 minutes from Kamloops with 45 km. of well-groomed classic and skating tracks. It's run lovingly by the Kamloops Overlander Ski Club.
