Swimming pools and saunas are in virtually every resort condominium complex. Guests staying at the few condos that don’t have them get privileges at nearby complexes. The ski dorm has video games and pool tables.

The White Cap Base Lodge houses the White Cap Fun Center for families. Activities here include an arcade, a lighted tubing park and skating rink. Skate rentals are available. Fireworks take place here every Thursday and Saturday evening.

Bethel Station, about 4 miles from Sunday River, has a four-screen movie theater.

Arrange snowmobile rentals and tours through Sun Valley Sports (824-7533) or Bethel Outdoor Adventures (824-4224), which also offers snowshoeing tours. Indoor laser tag, miniature golf and rock climbing are available at B.I.G. Adventure Center (824-0929). For one-day or multiday fully-outfitted dogsledding trips, call Mahoosuc Guide Service (824-2073) in Grafton Notch.

Bethel has unusual shops. Bonnema Potters sells pottery depicting the Maine landscape. Mt. Mann is a native gemstone shop. Samuel Timberlake makes fine reproduction Shaker-style furniture.
