On sunny days, apres-skiers crowd the decks of The Beach, in front of the base lodge. Gepetto’s Side Bar and The Bag are also lively on weekends. The hot spot for live music and dancing at night is the Widowmaker Lounge. For a more subdued atmosphere, try the Sugarloaf Inn, home of the Shipyard Brewhouse or The Double Diamond Steakhouse and Pub in the Grand Summit Resort Hotel.

Just down the road, The Rack, co-owned by 2006 Olympic Snowboard Cross gold medalist Seth Wescott, has a strong local following. Judson’s, on Rte. 27, is a favorite with locals as well as UMaine and Colby College students. Tufulio’s has a popular happy hour with locals.
