The Stratton Ski Touring Center (297-4114) has two locations: the country club and Sun Bowl. Both offer groomed trails for diagonal and skate skiing, but trails at the country club are easier (fewer hills). Lessons and rentals are available. At the country club center, Stratton also offers Tubbs snowshoe rentals.

Viking Ski Touring Center (824-3933) in Londonderry, has 30 km. of groomed trails through woods and open fields. The terrain is best suited for intermediates, but advanced skiers won't be bored. Down in Manchester Village, Hildene (362-1788) has 17 km. of trails through the pine-covered estate of Robert Todd Lincoln. There is a warming hut in the carriage barn, with rentals, trail tickets and light refreshments.
