Lessons (2006/07 prices)

skierGroup lessons: $46 for 90 minutes, $40 midweek.

First-timer package: Stowe for Starters includes up to two 90-minute group lessons, rentals and a Spruce Mountain lift ticket for $96 weekends and holidays, $83 midweek. Stowe recommends that skiers and riders learn on Spruce Peak until they are comfortable on all blue terrain before "graduating" to the more difficult terrain on Mt. Mansfield.

Private lessons: Multilingual, telemark, racing, pipe/park and adaptive-specific pros are available. For one person, one-hour lessons are $112. Two hour private lesson for one costs $180; half day (three hours), $262; full day, $411. For two to five people, one-hour lessons are $168; two hours, $255; half day (three hours), $355; full day, $597. Midweek/non-holiday prices are lower, as are one-hour private lessons from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and after 3 p.m.

Semi-private lessons: Levels 6–9 can take two-hour semi-privates for $76 (weekends and holidays). Prices drop a few dollars midweek.

Special programs: The Women in Motion three-day program is for intermediates and better. Dates are Jan. 9–11, Feb. 7–9 and March 6–8, 2006. Lodging and lift ticket packages available; call for pricing.
