Sleigh rideThe Warming Hut, in the old Provisions building across the street from the Welcome Center, offers ice skate rentals and an arcade with coin-operated games, pool tables, air hockey, and snack machines. The Hut is open 1–10 p.m. on Saturdays and holiday weeks, Sundays from 1–8 p.m. The ice skating rink is behind the Long Trail House and is open daily, with lights on until 10 p.m., weather permitting. The rink is unsupervised.

Teens can watch movies at the Hut on Saturday evenings. A fixed-up movie theater in Manchester has two screens.

The Riley Rink (802-362-0150), in Manchester, also has ice skating. The Stratton Sports Center (802-297-4230) has indoor tennis, racquetball, indoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, fitness center, tanning salons and massages.

There is snowmobiling at the resort and in the valley. Sleigh rides are offered by Horses for Hire (297-1468) in Rawsonville, just south of Bondville on Rte. 30, Karl Pfister’s Sleigh Rides (802-824-6320) in Landgrove, near Bromley, Sun Bowl Ranch (802-297-9210) at Stratton and Taylor Farm Sleigh Rides (802-824-5690) in Londonderry.

The Avanyu Spa (802-362-7881), at the Equinox Resort in Manchester, offers everything from Reiki to arnica sports massages to maple leaf scrubs. Or try The Spa at Stratton Mountain (802-297-3339), a full-service day spa open from 8 a.m.–9 p.m.

Shopping is a major non-ski activity in the Manchester region. About 40 factory outlet stores, including Coach, Brooks Brothers, Cole Hahn and Garnet Hill, are spread throughout Manchester, along with boutiques and shops with handcrafted regional gift items and unusual clothing.
