Steamboat — Adult Lessons

Steamboat has one set of prices for 7-day advance purchase and another for purchase within less than 7 days of the lessons. Below are the regular purchase prices. Purchases made at least 7 days in advance will save you about 10% off the regular price.

ADULT GROUP LESSONS, ages 16 & up:

“Never Ever” (first-timer) packages: For first-timers and beginners, an all-day lesson and equipment rental package for skiers and snowboarders costs $199 ($235 with lift ticket). Half-day packages cost $159 ($195 with lift ticket). The Complete 3 Learn to Ski or Snowboard (3 days) costs $499.

Level 2 & up: All day, $199. 3 pack all-day, $398.

Private Lessons: There are 1-hour early bird private lessons for levels 3-8 (maximum 2 people) for $179. Three-hour private lessons cost $519 (a.m.) and $399 (p.m.) Five-hour private lessons are $619 and seven-hour private lessons cost $719. Reservations required; call (800) 299-5017. For private lessons, the 7-day advance purchase will save you at least 10%.

The Snowsports School also offers Women’s Ski Camps, Billy Kidd Race Camp, Female Fridays (intermediate to advanced), Maverick Freestyle Park & Pipe, Snow Bikes, a number of children’s programs, and more.

Racing: Steamboat is home to about 70 Olympians, so it’s a natural for racing and competition programs. The resort has one of the largest race facilities in the world with NASTAR racing open to the public from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, from early December through the end of March in the Bashor Race Arena. Daily passes are $12.

Steamboat also has the Billy Kidd Performance Center which offers one-, two- and three-day camps on specific dates for adults who are at least of intermediate ability. The camps refine technique in the bumps, through race gates and on tough terrain.
