Steamboat — Children’s programs

Kiddie Corral Child Care (ages 6 mos. to 6 years): Cost is $129 all day with lunch ($116 all day during value season). Includes lunch for toddlers and preschoolers. The Kiddie Corral is divided into Infant Room (6-18 mos. – parents must provide all milk/formula and other food), Sr. Toddler Room (19-35 mos.), and Pre-School (3-6 yrs.). Parents must provide all diapers. Prepaid reservations required for all child care programs. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. Other options: Baby’s Away (800-978-9030; 879-2354) rents and will deliver baby needs to your lodge, such as cribs, strollers, car seats and toys. Click here for daily rates for each type of equipment.

Children’s Ski & Snowboard Lessons (1st grade through age 15): Full day is $159, or $191 with lift ticket, and includes lunch. Discount available off full-day lesson with 7-day advance purchase (no discount off the lift ticket add-on, which is already discounted).

  • 9:30 am meeting time (the first 10-15 minutes will be organizational time before classes leave the base area).
  • All kids’ programs require an all-mountain lift ticket.
  • Children in 1st grade and older may ride lift without an adult (applies to Level 3 and above).
  • During peak periods, class ratios may be higher.
  • We may not be able to accommodate late arrivals, so please make reservations.
  • Helmets are required for all students 15 and under.

Skiing with your children: Steamboat has four kids-only lifts and two special teaching areas with their own moving carpets. More advanced children have kids-only ski terrain at Rough Rider Basin with its own lift plus Indian teepees, a frontier-style fort and the Beehive kids’ terrain park. One child 12 or younger rents gear free with each five-day parental adult rental; certain restrictions apply. Rentals are available at the Kids’ Vacation Center. Helmet rentals also are available.

Steamboat Teen Challenges (ages 13-17): Steamboat has America’s top teen training program for Levels 6-8, with all-day lessons (including lunch) during peak periods. Cost is $159, with a lift ticket add-on for $32.
