Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort, California
Sierra-at-Tahoe is one of the South Shore’s best-kept secrets: There’s 2,000 acres of fun just waiting to be gobbled up.
There are 14 Alpine resorts in the Lake Tahoe region, which includes California and Nevada. With so many to choose from, you’re certain to find at least one that’s perfect for your needs.
Sierra-at-Tahoe often is overlooked by destination skiers to the South Shore. What a shame. Sierra-at-Tahoe has more than 2,000 vertical feet and 2,000 acres, and the tree skiing is some of the best in the country. Roughly 1,500 of the 2,000 acres are in the trees, old growth fir trees that, as one local put it, seem “strategically placed.”
Just 12 miles south (about 30 minutes), this fun, big resort has an intimate feel. The resort has opted to invest its money into on-mountain upgrades; consequently you won’t find any lodging or even a mountain village at its base. You will find a compact base area that’s easy to get around, fabulous terrain, an efficient lift network, and great customer service, thank you very much.
