Alta — Lessons

Bearing the name of Alf Engen, the Norwegian ski jumper who came to Utah in 1930, the ski school is recognized in the industry for its founder and contributions to the development of professional ski instruction. Lower-level ski lessons meet at the base of the Albion lift, while upper skill levels meet at the Mid-Mountain Meeting Place. For all ski school programs, call 801-359-1078.

2-Hour Beginner Class – $60
Maximum of 7 participants
10:15 am or 1:30 pm daily at the Albion Base.

2-Hour Intermediate Class – $60
Maximum of 7 participants

2-1/2-Hour Advanced Off-Trail Workshop – $75
Maximum of 5 participants
1:30 pm daily at the Watson Shelter Meeting Place.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

A 2.5-hour telemark workshop is offered at 1 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays for $75. Alta Performance Ski Camps are offered in December, February and April. The Teen Freeride Camps are in December and February. The resort also has an excellent collection of Women’s Programs offered at various times throughout the year.

RACING

Alta’s race course is located at the Sunnyside lift, open Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. Pay at the race arena or at the ticket office.
