KidStuff (2006/07 prices, without tax)

Child care: Ages 18 months through 5 years old. All-day for ages 18 months–3 years costs C$65; for ages 3–5 years, C$55. Cost for a half day for all ages is C$35. Lunch is an additional C$7. Book a full day at least two days in advance and get 10 percent off. Hourly rates are available. For Wee Wascals reservations, call (250) 341-3041. Telus Mobility call-in stations are located on the mountain for parents to check in on their wee ones. Evening babysitters are available by arrangement.

Children's lessons: There are extensive lesson offerings for children. Register in advance with the ski school for all children's lessons, (888) 767-7799 or (250) 342-6941.

The Snowbirds program is an introduction to skiing for kids 34 years old. Lessons start at 9:15 a.m. or 3:15 p.m. and cost C$29; most children spend the rest of the day in child care.

The all-day Adventure Club (10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) is designed for skiers ages 514 and snowboarders ages 814. It costs C$69 (includes lunch) for one day; C$189 for three consecutive days; each additional day costs C$55.

First-time skiers ages 14 and older can take a MagicTrax Group Lesson with specially trained MagicTrax instructors and "shortcut" shaped skis. The three-day program costs C$189; includes gear rentals. First Run Snowboard for kids 8 and older teaches the basic skills of sliding, turning on an easy slope and lift-riding. The two-hour lesson starts at 10 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. and costs C$49.

Skiing with kids: The "kids only zone" is just off the Mile One quad chair. The Secret Forest is a magical place including a mid-mountain wooden fort and park where kids can kick off their skis and play.

Special activities: Horse-drawn sleigh rides take you along Toby Creek to Trappers Cabin, an old-time ranch where there's a roaring fire, hot chocolate and s'mores. Winter Wonderland is the place to go every Saturday night for a kid's parade, story telling and the snow dance. Another option is to drop into the Panorama Springs Hot Pools for a game of "Hot Pool Bingo." There are even magic shows on some nights. "Kids Night Out" include indoor games, activities and crafts for children ages 5–12. Older kids can go to Teen Movie Night or the e-zone games arcade.The Glacier nightclub also hosts Teen Club Nights on Thursday and Sunday nights.
