Almost all of the glades
on Mont Giroux dump out onto Passe-Montagne, a long, flat beginner
trail that might require some hoofing to get back to the lift. But
don't let that stop you if you like glades, some riders say it's
a nice relief after the tough workout they just had in the woods!
Want to reach warp speed?
Head to Maxi and Trois-Ruisseaux.
Parks and pipes
Orford has three terrain parks,
one on Mont Giroux and two on Mont Orford. The park on Mont Giroux,
on Magog, is where you'll find the ridercross course. The main park
on Mont Orford is home to rails, boxes, big air jumps and the halfpipe,
all within view of riders on the hybrid gondola. You often have
a choice of lines and features, so on one run, you might hit a jump,
while on another you might take a rail or box. This keeps the park
interesting for quite awhile. A learning park is also on Mont Orford,
near the bottom of 4 km. On a powder day, the parks are varitably
empty, since everyone heads to the woods or cruises down the trails
leaving rooster tails in their wake.
For
a natural terrain park not to be missed, Contour on Mont Orford
goes from narrow to wide to narrow, and is covered with ledges,
rocks and double fall lines.
