Getting there

By air: Fly into Montreal's Dorval International Airport or Burlington (Vt.) International Airport. If you arrive from outside Canada, you'll need a passport or birth certificate for customs. You'll need to rent a car either way.

By car: If you're coming from the United States, you'll need a birth certificate or passport to cross the border. The Eastern Townships resorts are fairly spread out, and the travel directions vary considerably according to where you're going. The best bet is to ask your lodging for directions and/or print off a map from the resort's or lodging's website.
Access from the major northeastern U.S. metro areas is relatively easy, via interstates 89, 91 and 93. Mont Orford is conveniently located off Hwy. 10. Here's a general rule of thumb for travel time: The resorts are about an hour from Montreal, one to two hours from Burlington, four to five hours from Boston, and six to seven hours from New York. Getting around: You'll need a car. Everything is spread out, and you'll want to explore the surrounding area and visit the various resorts.
