Mt. Hood SkiBowl, Mt. Hood Region, Oregon

Mountain Layout—Skiing

Mt. Hood SkiBowl is gaining a reputation for challenging ski runs with the addition of its Outback area and 1,500 feet of vertical reached from Upper Bowl. The mountain is rated 60 percent expert and 60 percent intermediate, but the 65 runs have enough variety for all skills. Beginners have some nice terrain, although the unloading ramps on the Multorpor side can be steep and intimidating for those at this level.

Mt. Hood SkiBowl claims to be America's largest night-skiing area by virtue of the number of lights. It illuminates 34 runs, including some truly steep black-diamond runs. It also emphasizes ski racing, with programs for a variety of age groups.
