Dining
SkiBowl
has typical ski-cafeteria food in its two lodges, and European meals at the Mid-Mountain
Warming Hut at the top of the Lower Bowl Chairlift. Beer and wine are available at the T-Bar in
the East Lodge, and there's a full bar, the Beer Stube, next door to the Starlight Cafe restaurant in
the West Lodge.
Timberline Lodge has an elegant
restaurant, the Cascade Dining Room (left), that serves
meals at set times. The salmon and lamb are excellent.
In Government Camp, Huckleberry Inn has a coffee shop open
24 hours a day, and is the place for a hearty breakfast. Mt.
Hood Brew Pub, next to the Mt. Hood Inn, has microbrewed beer,
espresso bar, local wines and a pub menu.
In the town of Hood River are several good restaurants, among them
Big City Chicks (1302 13th St.) for "healthy foods of
the world" such as rum-soaked Bajan chicken and Veggie Enchiladas
Mole in polenta tortillas.
