Dining
At
Mt. Hood Meadows the Finish Line in the North Lodge has lunches
and apres-ski, and a massive window showcasing much of the
area. Also in the North Lodge is the Meadows Café.
In the South Lodge is Auntie Pasta's Deli, the Schuss
for fast food, Alpenstube Bar and Grill, and Chicken City's barbequed treats on the outdoor
deck (weather permitting). Ski-up service can be enjoyed at Mazot's
on-mountain facility and at the Renaissance Café in
the Hood River Meadows Skier Services Center.
Timberline Lodge has an elegant
restaurant, the Cascade Dining Room (left), that serves
meals at set times. The salmon and lamb are excellent.
In Government Camp, Huckleberry Inn has a coffee shop open
24 hours a day, and is the place for a hearty breakfast. Mt.
Hood Brew Pub, next to the Mt. Hood Inn, has microbrew beer,
espresso bar, local wines and a pub menu.
In the town of Hood River are several good restaurants, among them
Big City Chicks (1302 13th St.) for "healthy foods of
the world" such as rum-soaked Bajan chicken and Veggie Enchiladas
Mole in polenta tortillas.
