air: Calgary and Edmonton are the primary gateways to the Canadian Rockies. These International airports provide non-stop and direct flights and connectors. If you don't rent a car, Greyhound operates daily service from Edmonton
and Vancouver; call 421-4211.
By car: From Edmonton,
Jasper is 225 miles west on Hwy. 16. The ski area is 12 miles south
of Jasper via Hwy. 93, 93A and Marmot Basin Road. Jasper is about
170 miles north of Banff.
By train: VIA RAIL ( 888-842-7245) operates service to Jasper from Edmonton, Toronto
and Vancouver on its recently restored 50s-style art deco train,
The Canadian. Also ask about the Snow Train to Jasper.
Getting around:
A car is
best here. The ski area is a few miles from the town and lodging.
Brewster Transportation operates the Banff-Jasper shuttlebus and
the Marmot Basin shuttle into the townsite; call 852-3332.
