Loon Mountain has ice skating, day and night tubing (10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily on Little Sister Trail on the Octagon side of the mountain), and apres-ski entertainment for families.

Profile Mountaineering, in Lincoln, offers introductory ice climbing and winter mountaineering. Alpine Village has a rock-climbing wall, as does the Pemi Valley Rock Gym (745-9800) in Woodstock. Alpine Adventures (745-9911) in Lincoln offers guided snowmobile tours. Creations in The Depot has make-your-own pottery. Lincoln also has one movie theater with four screens.

The town of Lincoln has several specialty shops worth a look, including some factory outlets, along the Kancamagus Highway in town. The factory outlet bonanza of tax-free North Conway is 35 miles east of town, but the drive takes about an hour in winter.
