river and its acclaimed dining, prepared by long-time Chef Eric
Betrand from Strasbourg, France, has won numerous awards. Deluxe
rooms come with jetted tubs for two and a fireplace.

gourmet regional dinner prepared by a renowned chef are included.
One of the best reasons to visit Canada in the winter is to get
low-season rates at high-end resorts. One such place is the Relais
& Chateaux property La Pinsonnière (800-387-4431;
665-4431; $$$$$$), a country inn hugging the shore in La Malbaie.
Impeccable service, fine cuisine and a flair for romance define
its character. A most impressive collection of masterpieces from
regional artists hangs on the walls of the dining room and throughout
the inn.
If you're not staying near the mountain, the best option is to stay
in Québec
