Apres-Ski / Nightlife
Keystones
apres-ski and nightlife has come to life in River Run. Be sure to check out happy
hour and apres-ski at the Jimmy Buffet-style Parrot Eyes
in River Run. Hang out on the deck, delve into burritos, tacos,
nachos or tamales and wash it all down with margaritas. Live music
five nights a week keeps the apres-ski lively.
Other places for apres-ski
activity include Last Lift Bar in the Mountain House at Dercum
Mountain base, or Snake River Saloon, one of Keystones
older establishments that rocks on weekends with live music for
dancing. Tenderfoot Lounge, in Keystone Lodge, has comfy
couches and chairs, piano entertainment and a 15-foot fireplace.
At River Run, Kickapoo
Tavern draws a crowd on its patio on sunny days and inside
on snowy ones. Dont miss the Kickapoo Mountain Joy Juice,
a surprisingly potent blend of rums and fruit juices. The Great
Northern is Keystones only brewery and chophouse. Its handcrafted brews make it another favorite apres-ski scene in
River Run. The Inxpot brews specialty teas, gourmet coffees
and offers a full-service bar. Part coffeehouse, part bar, part
bookshop, its the kind of place that makes you feel like a
local.
A dont miss
is the Goatthe true locals hang out. The Goat
recently opened a dining room and more upscale/sleek bar adjacent
to the old, smoky dive that locals seem to still prefer. At the
original Goat, catch a game of foosball, grab a Pabst Blue Ribbon
and soak up the local scene. Warning: The decor is something youd
find in the basement of a fraternity house or at a garage sale in
the 1970s. Live music adds even more entertainment.
Sports fans will enjoy Pizza
on the Plaza in Lakeside Village, where youll find flat-screen
TVs, HDTVs and a big plasma screen. You name the sport, surely its
playing on one of the screens. To dance till you drop, head to Keystones
only nightclub, Green Light, in River Run, where the day
lodge morphs into a dance party. Its open every weekend until
2 a.m.
You'll find other nightlife
options throughout Summit
County.
