Keystone has an extensive cross-country touring area with 16 km. of groomed trails around the resort and an additional 57 km. of ungroomed backcountry skiing trails to ghost mining towns in the Montezuma area and around the region. The Keystone Nordic Center (496-4275) is located at the River Course clubhouse off Hwy. 6. Lessons and rentals are available. Cross-country activities include cross-country ski workouts with a personal fitness trainer, guided moonlight tours and peak-to-peak snowshoe treks. Snowshoe rentals are also available. The center has trail maps for the region and their clubhouse offers food service with outdoor chairs and tables. Choose from fresh-baked breads, soups and beverages including wine or beer for lunch. For those who stay at Keystone Resort, the Adventure Passport in the lodging packet offers free trail access and discounts on rentals. For a door-to-door service ride, call the E.A.S.E. bus (496-4200).
