Child care: Ages 2 to 7 years old. All ski and stay packages at Jay include free day care from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Pre-registration is advised. Call 802-988-2611. Those staying off-resort can put their children in Jay's day care on a first come, first served basis only. Cost is $45 all day ($6 extra for lunch); $25 half day. Infant care for on-property guests is available on a fee basis with advanced reservations.

Children's lessons: Kinderski is for ages 3–5 and costs $45 for a half-day, $90 for a full day (includes lift ticket but not rentals). Lunch costs $6. Mini-Learn-to-Ride is the same program for snowboarders ages 5–6 and costs the same. Pre-registration is required for both.

Jay Explorers, a full-day program for ages 6–10, costs $62 (lift tickets, rentals and lunch are extra). A half-day program costs $35. Miniriders is the same program for snowboarders ages 7-10.

Mountain Adventures is a full-day program for ages 10 and older who want to not only ski and snowboard, but try alternatives such as freeriding, telemarking and getting First Tracks before the resort opens to the public in the morning. Cost is $62 for a full day, $35 for a half day (lift tickets, rentals and lunch are extra).


Special activities: There is nightly supervised dining in Hotel Jay for ages 2-7; sign up by 2 p.m. There’s also an activity room with ping pong, video games and pool table in the hotel. Movies are shown nightly at 7 p.m. (for kids) and 9 p.m. (for adults) on all on-property TVs, as well as in the family room of the Hotel Jay.
