Child care:

Ages 2 to 4 years. Full day with lunch costs $93; half day is $78 (morning only). Parents should provide diapers, a change of clothing, a blanket and a favorite toy. Fun tip: In the "Belly Button" programs, the kids make chocolate-chip cookies to give to mom and dad when they return at the end of the ski day. Reservations required; call (970) 968-2318, Ext. 38101; or (866) 841-2481. Walk-ins are accepted on a space-available basis and are charged an extra fee. Note: The child-care center, in The Village at Copper, is difficult to find. When you call for reservations, ask for specific directions. Babies from 6 weeks through 2 years can eat, play and snooze in a separate nursery area.

Special activities: Kids' Night Out, a "kids only" night filled with fun and games, videos and pizza for children up to age 10. Participation is free to parents who spend $30 or more per child while they shop or dine at Copper Mountain.

Other options: Copper offers evening babysitting in a guest's accommodations; reservations required (866-841-2481; 968-2318, Ext. 38101). In-room babysitting services require 24-hour advance reservations or cancellations and cost $12 per hour plus $1 for each additional child. Also see Summit County child care.

Children's lessons: Full-day ski or snowboard programs (lunch, lesson, lifts) for kids ages 6-15 costs $104; a two day lesson is $187; and a three day lesson is $280. Kids ages 3–5 pay $123 for a one-day lesson, $221 for a two-day lesson and $332 for a three-day lesson. Rentals are extra. You can save 10 percent on all group lessons by either making advance reservations or by booking lodging with Copper Mountain.
