The New England Ski Museum sits adjacent to Cannon’s Tramway Base Station and has a collection of ski memorabilia well worth a visit. The museum is open noon–5 p.m. Friday–Monday, and admission is free. Cannon’s tram is open for non-skiing sightseers for $10 a ride. Snowtubing at Cannon’s tubing park on weekends and holidays costs $10 per session.

The Rocks Estate (800-639-5373) in Bethlehem, on a hilltop about 10 miles from Cannon, has sleigh rides and offers some forestry-related activities, since it’s owned by the Society For The Protection of New Hampshire Forests.

The Franconia Inn (800-473-5299; 823-5542) has an ice skating pond, sledding hill, winter horseback riding, and sleigh rides and equipment rentals.
