Child care: Ages 6 months and older. For ages 6–23 months, cost is $87 for a full day, $62 for a half day. For 2–8 years old, $77 for a full day, $52 for a half day. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Immunization records are required. Reservations are also required for all child-care services and parents will need to bring some things, so call ahead, 995-5847. The bright, airy facility is at slopeside Snowcrest Lodge.

Children's lessons: Ages 3–4 can take a 45-minute introduction to skiing in the afternoon, $65 (day care and rentals extra). Mini Camp, for ages 4–6, is $126 and includes all-day ski lessons, activities and lunch. Ski Camp, for ages 6–14, is $105 and includes all-day ski lessons, activities and lunch. Mini Rider Camp, for ages 6–9, is $142 and Snowboard Camp, for ages 10–14, is $106. Snowboarders 15 and older can take a 2.5-hour lesson for $50. Prices do not include lift ticket and rentals for kids 11 and older. Helmets are available for rental, $5. For information on lessons, call 995-5743.

Special activities: Kid's Club, based in the Huntley, is a very popular kids' program that's available from 3–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The clubroom is full of toys, games, arts and crafts materials and stuff for all kinds of fun activities. The program is free, but advance registration is required because space is limited. Kids love to meet the Ski Patrol rescue dogs and watch the impressive demonstration of their skills in performing searches (see Other Activities for details.) A free fireworks show lights up the sky every Saturday at 8 p.m.
