Child care: Ski Apache does not offer child care for non-skiing children. Day care is available through Tender Tots (505-257-5784), Kidz World (505-630-8089) and Mountain Nannies (505-937-0425).

Children’s lessons: Kiddie Korral takes 4- to 6-year-olds in an all-day instruction program including lunch and snow play. Cost is $97 with rentals; $86 without rentals (peak rates are higher). Reservations are recommended; call 505-336-4356 ext. 211 or book online at the resort's website.

First-timer Ski and snowboard lessons for children ages 7 and older start daily at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cost is $34 for a morning or afternoon session and an additional $17 for a full day (rentals and first day's lift ticket included). Non first-time skiers and snowboarders ages 7 and older can take an all-day lesson for $51 and $38 for a half day.
